Ineos Hans Crescent Enterprise
WiFi Fault Find, Redesign & Implementation
INEOS are one of the largest global manufacturers of petrochemicals, speciality chemicals and oil product with revenues over $60 billion. It comprises 34 businesses each with a major chemical company heritage. Its production network spans 181 sites in 22 countries throughout the world.
Ineos engaged Performance Networks to conduct a wireless site survey covering their Hans Crescent Knightsbridge Offices.
Users were experiencing drop outs across the WiFi network using a variety of devices across all five floors.
The hardware used onsite was High end dual-band Cisco Access points(APs), switches & controllers.
Performance Networks used Ekahau Site survey/Spectrum Analysis & Wireshark captures to perform a full wireless analysis and build a thorough report detailing the current WiFi network, issues, causes and remedies.
The survey report detailed several issues that were contributing to the performance issues being experienced, these included heavily congested 2.4GHz band, isolated coverage gaps, client device roaming issues between access points and too many client devices using the 2.4GHz band.
Performance Networks made various recommendations following the initial survey, all documented to the client in a detailed WiFi optimisation report built from the initial survey data.
The first stage of the works was to re-position and mount the access points to fill the covereg gas, these works were carried out by the Ineos team working from the Performance Networks design survey document.
The second stage of the works required Performance Networks, wireless architects to re-attend site to implement the technical recommendations on the Cisco WLC(controller).
Once all optimisation works and user testing had had been carried out a verification survey was undertaken, this then detailed both technically and graphically the performance of the optimised WiFi network.
We’re now pleased to be working with Ineos on a design and implementation project at a new site they have recently opened.
