David Ballard

David began his career in communications in 1989(10 years with the RAF) and moved into private sector network communications in 1999. He co-founded Performance Networks and has served as Director since its establishment.

With a career that began in communications and electronics in the late 1980s, supported by a degree in Electronics and technical training during his service in the Royal Air Force, David quickly found his calling in networking, a field he has led in ever since. His expertise is underscored by his multiple Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) qualifications, reflecting a deep knowledge of network architecture, along with certifications with vendors such as Microsoft, Ruckus, Aruba, Extreme, Checkpoint & Fortinet.

David co-founded Performance Networks with a clear vision: to deliver reliable, high-performance Wi-Fi and network solutions to sectors where connectivity truly matters, such as hospitality, logistics, warehousing, cold storage, and public infrastructure. Since then, he’s helped grow the business into a trusted provider across the UK.

Thanks to his leadership, Performance Networks is now a recognised CCS RM6116 Network Services 3 Supplier, making it easier for public-sector organisations to access fast, secure, and compliant networking solutions.

David’s also active on LinkedIn, where he regularly shares insights on emerging technologies like Wi‑Fi 6E, Wi‑Fi 7, and Private 5G, helping businesses stay ahead of the curve and build future-ready infrastructure.

David’s passionate about growing Performance Networks, expanding the business, increasing turnover, and scaling up what the team can offer to clients across the UK.
